On 28.6., there will be an audience talk directly after the show.
Psst! Secrets – everybody knows some and everyone has some. Why do secrets, hidden things and suppressed issues excite us so much? Even the word itself incites curiosity: secret! Düsseldorf choreographers Kathrin Spaniol and Morgan Nardi examine the necessity, beauty and poetry of secrecy in a society, in which much too much seems far too public. Together with their spectators, they will establish a temporary secret society as they track the meaning of secrecy – and its counterpart: revelation and the consequences that it entails.
Choreography and Performance: Kathrin Spaniol, Morgan Nardi. Video: Barbara Schröer. Lighting and Sound Design: Tobias Heide. Scenography: Lika Chkhutiashvili. Dramaturgical Assistant: Anna-Lena Schulte. The project is funded by the Cultural Department of the City of Düsseldorf, the NRW Ministry for Culture and Science and the NRW Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste. In coproduction with the FFT Düsseldorf.
Kathrin Spaniol studied dance at the European Dance Development Center, Arnhem. As a dancer, she has worked with choreographers such as Carlos Cortizo, Rui Horta, as well as the Städtische Bühnen Münster. In 2007, she began developing choreographies of her own at tanzhaus nrw, which have received acclaim at numerous national and international festivals.
Morgan Nardi studied dance and theater in Italy and France and was e.g. a member of the NEUER TANZ ensemble. He works as a choreographer and theater director in the dance/performing arts field in NRW and abroad since 2001. In 2002, he was awarded the first prize of Tendances in Luxemburg together with Kathrin Spaniol.
