Gym Tonic

Canadian-French quartet Gym Tonic, residing in Berlin, is danceable synth punk’s flavour of the month: Their shared love for US-American new wave act Devo, coupled with their desire to play music while also having fun, invariably made Stephanie Morin, Andrea Shettler, Karen Thompson and Olivier Bernet found the band three years ago. Gym Tonic combine new wave melodicism with punk rock’s energy and power. In their songs, they mix the lightness of being with its absurdity, black humour, fun facts and a dash of political undertones. And, as if in passing, they also design their own uniforms. Their debut album “Good Job”, released by Transistor 66 (Canada) and Et Mon Cul C’est du Tofu (France) in April 2019, is still freshly minted.
