Wake up. Get out of bed. What do I wear? The wardrobe is filled, but somehow, it holds no suitable clothes. Who will see me today? Many tiny decisions determine who we are. Are we free in this? What are the expectations we are confronted with by friends, family and society, regarding looks, gender or sexual orientation? In My funny Valentine, two young performers shed norms and start searching for new identities. In this staging by Mannheim’s Junges Nationaltheater, Martin Nachbar connects dance with experimental pop.
