MOTHER loves SON, SON loves MOTHER
She wants him and no other
SON says NO to show his dick
That’s what makes his MOTHER sick
MOTHER says bye and rips her tummy
SON dies car crash, last word MOMMY

Monster Truck undertake a journey into the abyss of forbidden love, infantile splatter fantasies and familial interdependence: Within the setting of a 1980s horror movie, inspired by the #metoo discourse, they narrate their own version of the ancient myth of love and revenge that comes with a gruesome ending. Performance collective Monster Truck have been representing controversial constellation and aesthetics since 2005. Guided by visual arts, their performances regularly confront motifs, discourses and systems: Science fiction sets meet bygone eras, Hollywood blockbuster aesthetics mesh with 19th century Vaudevillian practice, art conventions encounter nature studies, and politics run along with entertainment.

Ages 16 and up. Topics of sexual violence and abuse will be broached.

Monster Truck
Performance collective Monster Truck joined forces at the Institut für Angewandte Theaterwissenschaft (Institute for Applied Theatre Sciences) in Giessen and currently comprises Marcel Bugiel, Manuel Gerst, Sahar Rahimi and Ina Vera as its core. The collective moves about on the borders of theatre/ performance, scenic installation and video, employing a rotating cast. Within this context, they cooperate with other performers*, directors*, musicians* and project-based specialists*. Monster Truck’s works negotiate the cross-interlocking qualities of spaces and structures which inform a society’s subconscious as much as its alleged consciousness. More associated Monster Truckers are these: Alice Ferl, Sebastian König, Matthias Meppelink, Kris Merken, Malte Scholz, Mark Schröppel and Sylvia Sobottka.
