Dröhnen #1

Konzert Music & Sound

A noise. A racket. A row – that is what some might say. And so it shall sound deep into the night. This disturbance of the peace unveils new concert series dröhnen. Curated by Felix van Holt, this platform will, from now on, regularly present loud, independent, and experimental music by young bands from all corners, from all points of the compass. It will start out with no less than four hits to the eardrums.

Mamoré: Somewhere between Planet Punk, the Milky Way of retro pop, the microcosm of new wave and the backwater world of Thuringia will you uncover MAMORÉ. They practice rude pogo, romantic couple dances, Bowieesque hip swivels, drama, and coziness, anachronism and innovation, heartbreak and a wink, accompanied by celebratory synth melodies and rough rock guitars, all aggregated into a flowery emotional hodgepodge. At the hubbub’s centre: Five young men, clad in extravagant outfits, risen directly from vintage thrift crates, who sometimes cannot even begin to fathom what is happening around them.

Dignified Burial, this duo from the heart of Düsseldorf, having made a name for themselves since last year, are masters of filling the silence with life. With their unique blend of wave, ambient, and neo-folk, augmented with a heavy dose of synth, they redefined Rhenish gloom. Their music is an ode to genius and melancholia, a sound picture that abducts listeners into a world of profound reflection and emotional landscapes.

Narkose stands for aggressive, dark, and socio-critical German punk from the Ruhr area, since 2023. Four Gelsenkircheners combine influences from hardcore, post-punk, and German punk, and they will present their newest record that was released this summer.

In the spotlight: Wuppertal-based noisepunk conglomerate Stammtisch Flutwelle.
